Tantric Alchemy: The Royal Path of Transformation
We talked so much about energy centres and peculiarities of their functioning in order for us to understand the essence of energy process happening in Tantric practice. As a result of this alchemical energy process a Tantra practitioner goes through a fundamental transformation.
Tantra has been considered the royal path among all spiritual practices and the fastest spiritual growth path. Why? Because Tantra works with the most powerful energy – sexual energy.
The energy centres have different kind of energies in terms of its frequency and speed of vibration. For example, the Intellectual centre works with the slowest and low vibration energy (despite the fact that modern westerners tend to worship the power of intellect). The Motive and Instinctive centres work with the next level of energy – more fast and delicate one. That is why in an extreme situation when driving a car the Motive centre manage to react faster than the Intellectual to realise what is going on.
Some spiritual traditions, for example Gurdjieff system call these various types of energy hydrogen (H) and depending on the energy vibration attribute certain number. The more solid the energy the larger is the number. In this system the "Ray" of the creation of our universe begins from oneness which has the number H1 (or Hydrogen One). After that comes H3 (Hydrogen Three), H6 (Hydrogen Six), H12 (Hydrogen Twelve), H24 (Hydrogen Twenty-Four), H48 (Hydrogen Forty-Eight) and H96 (Hydrogen Ninety-Six). Here is the energy system in relation to human being:
H6 Higher Intellectual Centre
H12 Higher Emotional Centre, Sexual Centre
H24 Emotional, Motive and Instinctive Centres
H48 Intellectual Centre
So here we can see that the upper level is the Higher Intellectual Centre. When this energy vibrations are activated a human being gets close to control of all his abilities and potential.
Next energy level are the Higher Emotional and the Sexual Centres, i.e. out of all centres of energy with which a human being is used to deal with in a normal life, the Sexual Centre possess the most refined and subtle energy, which is considered to be the creative power and therefore is very spiritual. When we make love with our beloved partner we often can feel the grace which can be compared to the moment of the highest religious experiences. Osho during his conversations with students often compared sex with a prayer.
H12 level may initiate a new birth. The connection of the masculine and feminine can give a birth of a new life and it is a natural way of sexual energy transformation. However our body has another capacity of giving a birth of new life in itself. It is the birth of astral body, which is being formed of the same material (energy) as a baby’s body, the only difference is the process of how it happens. Our physical body with all its cells can be saturated with H12 energy, and when the saturation reaches its maximum level, H12 substance begin to crystallise. As a result of this process we have the birth of astral body.
The H12 transition to emanation and gradual saturation of the whole body is transformation of the physical body to astral body is called the Alchemy of the ‘lowest’ metals to the gold. This process involves the whole human being, i.e. we can see how a person with complexes and conflicting behavior full of angst and negative emotions etc, transforms to a God / Goddess full of joy, wisdom with all the freedom and Universe creative potential.
The final transformation and formation of astral body is only possible in a healthy, well-functioning body that is why Tantra pays a lot of attention to physical development of both partners.
